The region offers a wide range of activities. Without being exhaustive, here is a list of possibilities for young and old:
- On the lawn opposite the gîte you will find a playground for children, a petanque court, a football pitch and the starting and finishing point of a 3.5 km 'health trail' that runs through the countryside between Falmagne and Falmignoul.
- Falmagne is the starting point for many walks to the Lesse or the Meuse, through fields and forests, along rocks and small streams, revealing unexpected and beautiful landscapes and perspectives.
- By bike, it is easy to join the ""points-noeuds"" network of cycle paths in the province of Namur, from where you can continue cycling over hills and valleys.
- Rock climbers have already spotted the Freÿr rock (Club alpin belge), less than 3 km away, which offers a whole range of difficulties. The Aiguilles de Chaleux are also within easy reach.
- Kayaking on the Lesse is of course the classic excursion combining fun, sport, refreshment, adventure and excitement.
- The city of Dinant, pearl of the Meuse and capital of the saxophone, is a major tourist attraction in Wallonia and Belgium in general. Dinant is a strategic town on the banks of the river and along the 'Croisette' offers a large number of cosy terraces where you can quench your thirst and enjoy a meal. The Mouche, Sax and Copère await you for a cruise on the Meuse. A visit to the citadel is a must, especially for its didactic explanations.
- Many forts were built in this region, where a historical conflict raged between the county of Namur and the principality of Liège: Château Thierry, Château de Vêves, Château de Walzin, the Poilvache fortress in Yvoir and Château Crèvecœur in Bouvignes. The castle of Freÿr is also a gem on the banks of the Meuse.
- Lovers of ancient churches will appreciate the only two Romano-Mosan churches, one in Hastière-par-delà on the banks of the Meuse and the other in Celles in the heart of one of Wallonia's most beautiful villages.
- Gourmets will find restaurants to their taste nearby. The CCNomie and the Auberge des Crêtes - le Saint-Paulien are even within walking distance for those who like to get a breath of fresh air before and after a good meal.
- Those seeking spiritual experience or prayer can head to the sanctuary of Beauraing, where Our Lady with the Golden Heart appeared to 5 children in the 1930s, or to Foy-Notre-Dame, to venerate the small wooden statue of Notre-Dame de Foy. Youngsters will appreciate the welcome of the brothers and sisters of the Tiberiade fraternity in Lavaux-Sainte-Anne. Dinant is home to the reputation of the Norbertine Abbey of Leffe. Finally, the Benedictine abbey of Maredsous in the Molignée valley was founded by an ancestor of the owner of the gîte.
