I had already done the very beautiful walk from Falmagne to the Cuves du Colèbî in Falmignoul a few times, but I had not yet seen the vats (cuves).
So, this time, I went in search of the cuves - also called marmites -, formed over the centuries in this Colèbî canyon. It seems that these are the result of the conjunction of two elements, namely a steep slope and the presence of quartz sand. The steep gradient of the stream accelerates the flow of the water, which swirls in certain places. The sand particles carried by the flow wear away the rock, digging vats (cuves), also called marmites.
Be careful, the path is almost non-existent, there are so many fallen tree trunks tangled up in each other. It's also very slippery. I finally found a cuve. Here's a photo. With the autumn colors and a ray of sunshine, this walk was magnificent.

Fitness trail
On the Place du Baty, opposite the gîte, is the starting point of the Falmagne-Falmignoul fitness trail. A 3.5 km trail with fun and sporty exercises for all ages, which connects the villages of Falmagne and Falmignoul following a route through the countryside and fields. It's great for maintaining physical fitness and is also a good activity to do as a family with children, to get some fresh air and let the youngest ones burn off some energy...
The arrival point is at the Place du Baty playground, also opposite the gîte.

Replacing the small hedge
The boxwood hedge bordering the small gravel parking lot succumbed to the box tree moth attacks. So it had to be replaced with something new and pretty. I put in a small fence and four standing willows. I think it looks good. I hope you like it too. We'll add a few more flowers to brighten up the flowerbed.
