La retraite du Colonel

In the heart of a small village in the entity of Dinant, between Meuse and Lesse, the rural gîte (category 3 ears) "La Retraite du Colonel" offers its guests a peaceful stay in the countryside. It is accommodated in a part of a barn made of local stones, dating from 1860, pleasantly and tastefully furnished in a rustic style for families and biking enthusiasts ('Bikes Welcome' label) and other sports lovers. The gîte is located on the village square of Falmagne - the most beautiful square in the entire municipality of Dinant - opposite the charming little Sainte-Geneviève church.

The cottage/gîte can accommodate up to 11 people. Its surface area of 175 m2 offers large spaces where guests can meet or isolate themselves and meet up according to their needs.

The ground floor consists of a large room including the kitchen area, the dining room area and the living room area. On the floors there are four bedrooms, one with a private bathroom and two other bathrooms. A large landing has been converted in a reading corner or games room, with sofa.

Please note that sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, bath towels and tea towels are not provided and must therefore be brought by the occupants.

During their stay, travellers can make full use of the gîte and the terrace and part of the garden immediately behind it. The garden adjoins that of the owner. 

In consultation with the owner, they can also use the adjacent barn, which has a ping-pong table, table football, swings for children and a climbing rope. The barn is also accessible for storing bicycles, pushchairs, etc. The owner reserves access to the barn to use his own equipment, which is stored there, when necessary.

On the private gravel parking lot, just in front of the gîte, travellers can park a vehicle and use the electric charging station. However, access to the barn must remain free.

There is sufficient space to park other vehicles along the street bordering the square in front of the gîte.

For reasons of hygiene and allergies, pets are not allowed.

The centre of the village of Falmagne is very quiet and much appreciated for this. Travellers are asked not to disturb this peace and quiet during their stay.
